We worked with Mosodi to create a campaign to encourage active travel and promote a healthier lifestyle in Bradford’s diverse communities by motivating residents to walk, cycle, or run instead of using their cars for just one day each week..
Sicocreative needed to create a campaign that resonated with this audience, encouraged participation, and highlighted the health benefits of active travel in a way that felt inclusive and engaging.
To bring the 1DAW (One Day a Week) campaign to life, Sicocreative designed a series of playful, character-based illustrations centered around the number 1—symbolising one day of active travel per week. Each character reflected a different mode of active travel, including walking, running, and cycling, making the campaign relatable and visually appealing.
We adapted these designs across multiple platforms to create a cohesive message that could reach the community in various ways:
- Posters: Vibrant, multilingual posters were designed to be displayed in public spaces like community centers, shops, and places of worship to ensure maximum visibility.
- Social Media: Engaging graphics and motivational slogans were shared on social platforms, encouraging residents to get involved, while also being mindful of privacy sensitivities within the community.
- Website: A dedicated campaign webpage was developed, featuring the illustrations, information on the health benefits of active travel, and details on how to participate in the initiative, including a photo competition offering incentives for community members.
